Growth Partners Co., Ltd. (“Growth Partners” or “we”) announces that GP Listed Company Investment Limited Partnership, a fund managed by Growth Partners, has agreed to subscribe for warrants and warrant bonds to be issued by TORICO Co., Ltd. (“TORICO”) through a third-party allotment. We also entered into a business alliance agreement (the “Agreement”) under which we will support TORICO in planning and executing various initiatives to drive further growth.
Founded in July 2005 with the vision of “captivating the world” and the mission of “bringing more fun to the world,” TORICO operates two core businesses: (1) e-commerce services—including the online bookstore specialized in complete manga sets “MangaZenkan.com” and the digital comics distribution service “Sukima”—and (2) event services, such as “Mangaten” exhibitions held both in physical venues and online. As a pioneer in “bulk purchases of complete comic series,” TORICO has built a proprietary database from years of accumulated data, and established a competitive edge through warehouse operations tailored to full-set logistics.
Looking ahead, TORICO plans to sustain growth in its core e-commerce business, expand the high-potential event services business, pursue overseas expansion in collaboration with international partners, and develop new businesses such as a trading-card specialized e-commerce platform. In this context, the company determined it was essential to partner with a player capable of contributing capital, know-how, and network to enhance corporate value, and accordingly chose to form a business alliance with us.
Together, TORICO and Growth Partners will pursue accelerated business expansion through support for growth strategy formulation, business planning, new business proposals, M&A, and IR. Leveraging our accumulated hands-on know-how, we will contribute to further enhancing TORICO’s corporate value.
